Early Match Updates
Just one goal in the first half of the early fixtures. Samuel Dahl's 6th-minute goal has earned Benfica under Mourinho a 1-0 lead away to the Dutch side.
Newcastle’s Trip to Marseille
Although The Magpies traveled to the south of France fresh from their restorative two-one home English top-flight victory over Manchester City on the weekend, and having beaten Union Saint-Gilloise, the Portuguese side and Athletic Bilbao in the European Cup, their sole away win since the start of April came in Brussels at Union SG.
It's not that Eddie Howe was overly keen to discuss the mental side of this travel sickness. “The Champions League is different to domestic games,” said the coach, whose team are 6th in the Champions League standings, with 9 pts from a possible twelve and direct qualification to the last 16 almost within touching distance. “I am not sure if you can compare them.”
We have a separate live blog for Chelsea v Barcelona. Scott Murray, the minute-by-minute version of Diego Maradona is handling for that.
